As it becomes abundantly clear that our planet is on the brink of environmental catastrophe, clergy and religious leaders around the world are called to be voices for change and climate action. Dr. Leonisa Ardizzone, a scientist, science educator, and Unitarian Universalist minister invites clergy and educators from all faiths to join her in this endeavor. The workshops, trainings, talks, and teach-ins that Leonisa give explore the scientific data of climate change and how connecting that to religious beliefs, teachings and practices, can inspire local and global actions.

The spiritual beliefs that urge us to do the ‘right thing’ for the planet are certainly valuable and necessary. But if we are to change the hearts and minds of all (or many), we need to approach Global Climate Change with not just our ‘calling’, but also with good science that will help underscore and organize our choices and actions. All of Leonisa’s workshops utilize a three pronged framework connecting science knowledge and process, religious and spiritual tenets and practices, and peace education pedagogy.
