Robert Sabin has been distinguishing himself on the New York jazz scene for over a decade by performing in an enigmatic cross-section of musical genres. He was awarded Second Place in both the 2001 and 2003 International Society of Bassist's Jazz Competitions, and has appeared alongside such artists as Oliver Lake, Dick Oatts, Donny McCaslin, Luis Bonilla, John Riley, Dee Alexander, Aaron Johnson, Jim McNeely, Onaje Allan Gumbs, Victor Lewis, David Leibman, Chico O'Farril, Billy Taylor, Ted Rosenthal, Dianna Krall, Bill Watrous, The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Turtle Island String Quartet, Steve Turre, Vince Mendoza, Roland Hanna, Giacomo Gates, Joy Bellis, Mellisa Hamilton, Robin Aleman, Bob Mintzer, Carl Fontana, and Ernie Watts. He serves on the faculty of the New York Summer Music Festival, and director of jazz ensembles at Hunter College High School in New York City.
